Kaizer Chiefs head coach Stuart Baxter has confirmed club captain Itumeleng Khune as the club’s regular goalkeeper.

This came after starting against Mamelodi Sundowns.

One of Chiefs’ main strengths during their historic run to the CAF Champions League final last season was their goalkeeping department, with Khune proving capable when called upon.

The arrival of former Ajax Cape Town and Bidvest Wits stopper Brandon Petersen has brought added competition between the sticks.

After confirming Khune as captain and handing him a start in the MTN8 quarter-final defeat to Sundowns, Baxter revealed that Khune is set for a role as the regular shot-stopper.
