Lennox Mabaso, who is the KZN provincial government, spokesperson said they are aware of the situation.
He added that they have tasked the Department of Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs to refer the matter to the national Department of Minerals and Energy so that the issue is dealt with.
He revealed that the Department of Minerals and Energy promised to send a team to the site. KZN Premier Sihle Zikalala said if the situation was not brought under control it could result into chaos.
