Musical artists Kwesta and Wale are reported to have taken Telkom to court for unpaid royalties worth over R1.5 million.

The article from Sunday World said Telkom owes Kwesta over R1.5 million in unpaid royalties.

According to the report Wale’s publisher and recording company Sheer Music and Bridge IP have taken Telkom and other two companies to court.

Telkom, Wunderman Marketing and Wunderman Thompson are said to have refused to pay the 1.5 million rands in royalties for using their song in a famous Telkom advert.

When Sunday World reached out to Telkom spokesperson Moeketsi Mocumi, they declined to give any details saying the matter is before the courts.
