Cash in transit robber Thabo Happy Mosia has been found guilty of kidnapping, raping and murdering an SBV employee Linda Matati.
These were the findings of Judge Avrielle Maier-Frawley of the Gauteng High Court yesterday in Johannesburg.
Since his arrest in 2017, Mosia had denied doing all these crimes which took place in October 2016.
After r_aping and murdering Matati, Mosia dumped her body which was later found at a mortuary in Bronkhorstspruit after a year of searching.
The court found Mosia guilty of r_ape, kidnapping, murder and defeating the ends of justice. The Judge said Mosia’s evidence was questionable as it contradicted his statements in explaining details of the events that took place.
Samples of semen found in the deceased’s body matched the DNA of Mosia.
The mother of Matati, Gloria Sibuye said she was happy with the judgment. She added that all those people terrorised by Mosia will now feel safe in the streets of Finetown and Soweto.
