The formal extradition hearing for Bushiri and his wife Mary is set to begin on the 8th of March 2021.
The couple appeared in court yesterday after a warrant of arrest was issued. On the 8th of February Malawi will file an extradition to South Africa.
The defence team will be given an opportunity on the 16th of February to file a response before the matter can be heard on the 8th of March.
Bushiri and his wife are facing charges of fraud, money laundering and corruption.

They appeared in the Pretoria Magistrates court last year and they immediately fled South Africa for Malawi after being granted bail.
Social media users took turns, while some defended the prophet some said Bushiri deserved to be tried and sent to jail along with his wife.
