You Magazine this month attended the 21st birthday party of Entle Nqayi, a Cape Town woman who was born with a rare condition, she has no eyelids.

Entle ‘s mother, Nomaxabiso, told the magazine that she hopes that one day Entle will be able to see.

Entle was born with a condition where her eyes were completely covered with skin up to her cheeks.

In August 2003, Entle had her first surgery in Johannesburg, to cut open the skin covering her eyes. Sadly, her eye sockets were covered with fluid and there were no functional eyes inside.

Entle says she would like to have more surgeries in the future, to build her brows and to have eyelashes.

Entle has since been fitted with prosthetic brown eyes.
