The Sowetan reports that the man who hired a hitman on behalf of  Sam ‘Mshengu’ Tshabala, to kill his business partner, has confessed to police.

The man, Phindokuhle Eugene Nkosi, wrote an affidavit, which was seen by the Sowetan.

Nkosi said Chabalala asked him to find a Hitman and kill the late Nkosinathi Ngcongo, because he blamed him for his arrest.

Chabalala, who is on the run, was in custody at the time.

Nkosi said he drove the hitman, known to him as Khumalo, to Sam Holdings premises and they waited in the car.

After some time, the hitman told him to wait as he was going to the toilet. Nkosi says after a while, he heard gunshots.

The murder happened on 11 September 2019. Eugene Nkosi was sentenced on October 25 to 25 years in prison for his role in the murder.

Chabalala ‘s whereabouts are unknown after he disappeared while on R500 000 bail after being charged with bribery and corruption.
