In an Instagram video on the launch of Dstv’s gospel channel, Trace Gospel, Kelly Khumalo spoke of the possibility of sacrificing music that is not connected to religion or spiritual matters to release the project.
The songstress said she has been trying to figure out who she is and what she was meant to do. In her new project she released a gospel song titled ‘Esphambanweni’.
In her own words Kelly said ‘Esphambanweni’ is the symbol of the cross and God’s unconditional love to us. With all that said Kelly is still in the crossroads regarding her music genre.
Kelly Khumalo disgrees with being called a gospel singer as she always includes gospel tracks in her albums.
The singer revealed that she grew up in church but she is not a gospel artist and does not think she will ever be one. She said she is just an artist who sings gospel.
