Kaizer Chiefs has fired its head coach Ernst Middendorp after losing the 2019/20 Absa Premiership League title to Mamelodi Sundowns last week.

They announced this on their social media pages. The statement on Twitter reads as follows:

“After reviews conducted by Kaizer Chiefs Chairman Kaizer Motaung and the club’s management, Amakhosi have decided to part ways with Coach Ernst Middendorp with immediate effect.”

Kaizer Chiefs lost the Absa Premiership title after having been on top for 29 games. The club has not yet announced who will be taking over as the new Kaizer Chiefs head coach.

Middendorp headed 60 games at Kaizer Chiefs and the club won 31 of them. A lot of Amakhosi fans praised the management for getting rid of Ernst Middendorp.
