Gospel singer Hlengiwe Mhlaba said Covid-19 has caused so many challenges in people’s lives leading to depression. She revealed that even artists were struggling to make a living during this period.
Artists are struggling to pay rent and property instalments. Some have applied for the relief funds. Hlengiwe also said that she tried to end her life due to depression.
The gospel star said she tried to commit suicide not once but twice as she was going through a tough phase. She got help through talking to other people.
Hlengiwe urged all those facing difficult challenges and also those suffering from depression to never try to commit suicide as that was not the solution.
She said talking to close family or friends about all challenges one might face is the better answer.
