Sarafina producer, Mbongeni Ngema has been stopped from presenting at the Tshwane University of Technology as it was deemed inappropriate.
Ngema is facing a backlash after his ex wife, Xoliswa Ndungeni-Ngema revealed that Ngema r_aped her and beat her up soon after their divorce, when she found out he was having an affair with Leleti Khumalo.
Xoliswa released her tell all book, Heart of a strong woman, two weeks ago, in which she reveals that her marriage to Ngema was abusive and he had affairs with multiple women.
Ngema was supposed to be the main speaker at the event, which will take place on the 27th of August.
The University said it would be inappropriate for Ngema to present on the topic, Arts and Social Justice – In pursuit of a Non Racial, Non Sexist South Africa
Ngema told the Sowetan Newspaper that he is not concerned about the cancellation as he is now used to newspapers writing badthings about him.
