Struggle stalwart and Ambassador John Nkadimeng’s funeral service took place today at his family home in Johannesburg. ANC officials including Jackson Mthembu and Ace Magashule were in attendance.

Nkadimeng affectionately known as Mokgomana or JK died at the age of 93. South African President Cyril Ramaphosa paid tribute to the late Nkadimeng in an eulogy.

While reading the eulogy, the president urged South Africans to draw on the spirit of Nkadimeng and do everything to rebuild the economy.

“More than that, we must transform our economy, it resembles less of where we were before the pandemic and more of where we want to be”, the president added.

Nkadimeng was accorded a Special Official Funeral Category 1 in recognition to his contribution he made to the freedom of South Africa.

The Late Struggle Icon, Nkadimeng was laid to rest on Friday 14 August 2020 at West Park Cemetery.
