Broadcaster and author Redi Tlhabi sent her tributes to the late Radio legend Bob Mabena. She said it was Bob Mabena who opened the first door that launched her career.
Redi revealed that Bob was generous with air time on radio as he gave even new comers time to work alongside him even on important shows like the Breakfast show.
She added that Bob Mabena did a lot of panel beating to everyone working under him until that person was a world class radio presenter.
Further more, Redi said Bob was kind and respectful to everyone. He also gave constructive criticism to everyone. She also said Bob was never threatened by anyone’s talent as he always elevated other people.
She concluded by saying Bob mentored her from the time she was 21 years old. Bob also mentored many others in the industry including Kuli Roberts.
Bob Mabena recently passed on after succumbing to cardiac arrest at the age of 51 after working in the entertainment industry for over three decades.
