Founder and former president of Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP), Dr Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi has tested positive for Coronavirus.
The news was confirmed by the Party. The family spokesperson said the 92 year old political veteran was informed earlier in the week that he was in contact with someone who had tested positive for Covid-19.
Buthelezi is currently self isolating at his home as required by the World Health Organization. His health is not in a bad condition and the family has asked for some space while he isolates.
South Africa has been hard hit by the Covid-19 pandemic. This Southern African country now accounts for over half of a million cases reported on the African continent.
