South African social media personality and Youtuber, Lasizwe Dambuza, was left feeling heartbroken by the backlash he received after he showed his support for Zimbabwe and the ZimbabweanLivesMatter movement.
The hashtag #ZimbabweanLivesMatter has been widely trending across the whole world as people speak out against human rights abuses in the country.
Many South African celebrities and politicians helped to make the hashtag trend when they showed their love and support for Zimbabwe.
The star of MTVAfrica’s hit show, “Lasizwe: Fake It Till You Make It?” also showed his support for Zimbabwe by proudly tweeting, I STAND WITH ZIMBABWE!
While many Zimbabweans showed their appreciation for Lasizwe’s support, some homophobic elements came out raging against him saying that they did not need his support.
Lasizwe was heartbroken by the backlash.
However, many Zimbabweans apologised for the conduct of their compatriots and thanked the star for his support.
