Veteran TV actress Mary Twala has been in the entertainment industry for 60 years.

She has received awards for her excellent contribution to the performing arts.

Her full name is Mary Twala Mhlongo, born in September 14th, 1939. She is the mother of Somizi Mhlongo and has granddaughter by the name Bahumi.

Her successful television acting career has been marked with appearances in various local productions like Muvhango, SOS, Yizo-Yizo, Khululeka, Child of Soweto, Soul Buddyz, Hlala Kwabafileyo, Die SonKriel, Iqhawe, and Undezani Melwane.

She was featured in Ubizo (The Calling), the 2007 SABC1 supernatural miniseries. From March to April 2009, the veteran actress appeared in Hopeville, the SABC2 miniseries as MaDolly.

The talented actress has appeared in various popular local programs. She was in the first Generations season as a guest-cast member and was also featured in The Imposter.
