Actress Refelwe Modiselle against all odds succeed in the modelling industry to become Africa’s first successful model living with albinism.

She joined Afternoon Express to chat about her latest film “White Gold” that documents the struggles faced by those living with albinism across Africa.

She won the Best Actress Award for her role as Mansa in the film at the Pan African Film Festival in Los Angeles.

Refelwe said the film was about Mansa a teacher living with albinism who falls victim to a Sangoma’s evil superstitious thinking when it comes to people living with albinism.

She added that the film was to educate and spread awareness about people living with the condition and the struggles they come across in life.

She concluded by thanking the production team for giving her the opportunity to act since people living with albinism are not given such opportunities.
