Multi Award-Winning musician, Simphiwe Dana held an online interview with Afternoon Express to chat about challenges faced by artists during this lockdown period.
Before the covid-19 pandemic was announced, she went to Mali where she had music collaborations with Salif Keita.
Amid the chaos of this pandemic, she blessed listeners with music from her album, “Bamako”.
However, Simphiwe Dana revealed that the lockdown is impacting them as artists because they haven’t been able to make any income for almost half of the year 2020.
She added that artists need to have their own fibre or internet so that they may be able to work virtually without being interrupted.
Dana mentioned that her children are also doing their school work online in order for them not to miss a lot when it comes to their education.
