Enterprises Minister, Pravin Gordhan emerged victorious after the Constitutional Court dismissed the application by the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) and the Public Protector.

Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane ‘s SARS rogue unit report was a recommendation to President Cyril Ramaphosa to discipline Gordhan for maladministration and corruption.

The Minister then launched an urgent application in the Pretoria Court where he was granted an order that temporarily suspended the remedial actions contained in the report.

The EFF approached the Constitutional Court seeking an interdict to allow disciplinary action to be instituted. The ConCourt found that the High Court ruling was in accordance with the law.

Meanwhile, Gordhan’s lawyers welcomed the ConCourt ruling whereas the office of the Public Protector is yet to give a comment. EFF said they were waiting for the review that will take place on the 6th of August.
