Miss Universe Zozibini Tunzi has apologised after her old insensitive social media posts dating back to 2012 and 2013 respectively resurfaced.

This comes after the controversy over old insensitive racial Tweets posted by Miss South Africa 2020 contestants Bianca Schoombee and Oneida Cooper resurfaced last week.

The beauty queen said she was embarrassed by her insensitive posts that she posted on her Facebook page years back when she was still a teenager. The posts were removed earlier this week.

In a video on Instagram she apologised to everyone who might have been affected by her comments. She said the comments were in contrary to who she is and what she stands for.

She went further to say everyone must take responsibility for what they do, even if we think it’s just an insignificant joke because some of the things we say are just not funny.

One of her posts says,” Very very dark girls with blonde weaves look like Duracell batteries, we see you… Never going blonde..Tjo!”.
