Doja Cat was actually born Amala Zandile Dlamini on October 21st in 1995. Her father Dumisani Dlamini is from Durban in South Africa.

Her father is an actor, dancer and producer while her Jewish American mother, Deborah is a visual designer and painter.

Doja dropped out of school at eleventh grade and decided to start making music full-time. She focused more on music and dancing as she said school was not for her.

She took the name Doja Cat because she was smoking w_e_ed at the time and she was also keeping many cats.

Doja rose to fame after dropping a video for her song Mooo. The video received cosigns from Chris Brown and Katy Perry and it now has more than 46 million views on YouTube.

In 2019 she released songs like “Go to Town”, “Juicy” and “Tia Tamera” with Rico Nasty which now has more than 13 million views on YouTube.
