Somizi Mhlongo is one of the most open and proud face of gay people in South Africa. He is now married to Mohale Motaung.
He makes headlines from his flamboyant clothes and style to his controversial comments about everything.
He started acting at the early age of 13 when he featured in Scavengers. He was part of the Sarafina cast where he also choreographed.
He has choreographed for many events including the South Africa FIFA World Cup opening and closing ceremonies in 2010. He is also a judge on SA idols.
Mhlongo has a child with actress Palesa Madisakwane. They apparently met when Somizi was already dating other men, Palesa could not help it but fall for him and they started dating.
During their time together, Somizi came out as gay but by then Palesa was already expecting a child.
On Khaya FM, Somizi said he told Palesa that he was bisexual and Palesa said if you are bisexual it means you can date both men and women.
Somizi apparently told Palesa about him having a boyfriend and not being straight because by that time he thought that he was bisexual.
However he recently got married to actor Mohale Motaung. The two met at Somizi’s Dominoes book launch signing in 2017.
