William Mzimba joined Accenture in May 2000 as CEO. Accenture is a leading global professional services company, providing a broad range of services and solutions in strategy, consulting, digital, technology and operations.

Mzimba was attracted to Accenture by his will to learn how the organisation was doing it right for so many years and how it has grown over to so many countries.

Before joining Accenture, William used to run a black owned ICT company. Thus for him to expand his horizons he joined Accenture.

Accenture employs 215 000 people in the world and 1600 people in South Africa. Mzimba is responsible for Accenture operations in the Southern African country.

He said Accenture gave him a bigger platform for him to grow as an interpreneur.

Some of the major clients working with Accenture is SAB Milliers. Mzimba said they managed to get such clients because as an organisation they are always in the forefront with what’s happening with technology.

He added that it is important to look for all kinds of innovation technologies in order to solve any available problem in a business.

He said Accenture has made it this far because they think locally and leverage globally to create innovations that are relevant to emerging markets.

Accenture has research centres in a number of countries. The research centres focus on how to make commercial applications of various technology inventions work in the world.

Lastly Mzimba said that Accenture has delivery centres that deal with lack of technology skills in Africa.

They have 150 000 highly qualified people with Phds who work with clients on these delivery centres.
