Tebogo G. Mashego missed his connecting flight from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to Johannesburg because he stayed up all night on a TikTok live stream during his layover. Viewers repeatedly urged him to end the stream and get some sleep, but he continued ranting about DJ Maphorisa (referred to as “Phori”), including accusations involving “tokoloshes” (a reference to mythical creatures often invoked in curses or supernatural claims).
This left him exhausted and unable to make it to his morning departure, stranding him at the airport where he was later seen crying and seeking help from airline customer service.
