The family of late South African Deputy President David “DD” Mabuza are fighting over his R44.7-million pension pay out following his untimely death on July 3, 2025. Mabuza’s daughter, Tamara Silinda, has filed an urgent high court application, trying to stop Alexander Forbes from paying the entire R44-million to his wife, Nonhlanhla Patience Mnisi.

Tamara, in her court papers, argues that Mabuza was also married to her mother, Emunah Silinda, in terms of customary law, and that she needs money for her school fees, accommodation and monthly allowance, as she used to get from her father while he was still alive. The matter is to be heard in court next Tuesday.
