The South African Music Awards which were scheduled to take place in Durban have been cancelled.

The decision was taken by the Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs in KwaZulu-Natal.

The SA Music Awards remains the most prestigious and largest Music Awards event in the South African music industry.
