Dr Nandipha Magudumana has been denied bail, Magistrate Estelle de Lange who presided over the matter said she is a flight risk.
She appeared in the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s court today. Magudumana and Bester were arrested in Tanzania four months ago while fleeing South Africa.
Thus the Magistrate said there was no guarantee that Magudumana would not try to skip the country again.
Magudumana appeared in court for her bail application, after she was jailed for helping her Facebook R_apist and murderer boyfriend Thabo Bester to escape from Mangaung Maximum prison last year.
Dr Nandipha Magudumana will remain in custody at the Bizzah Makhate prison in Kroonstad.
Thabo Bester escaped from Mangaung Maximum prison in May last year. It was believed that he had passed away in an inferno at the prison.
