Prince Simakade ZuluĀ  launched a legal battle against King Misuzulu KaZwelithini in the courts. He denounced Misuzulu’s recognition as the King of the Zulu.

Simakade claims that he is the rightful person to be crowned as King of the Zulu nation and has been named as such by some members of the royal family.

His application at the Pretoria High Court is also to ask President Cyril Ramaphosa to recognise Prince Simakade as the rightful heir of the Zulu throne.

According to his court papers Simakade has met members of the royal family twice and they have recognised him as the King and not Misuzulu.
