ANC Declares A Week of Mourning Jessie Duarte

ENCA NEWS reported that a week of mourning has been declared for ANC stalwart Jessie Duarte.

The ANC Deputy Secretary General Jessie Duarte passed away yesterday morning and was buried at Westpark Cemetery in Johannesburg in the afternoon.

Duarte passed away at the age of 68 after battling cancer. Her colleagues, Baleka Mbete, Lindiwe Zulu, and Lindiwe Sisulu expressed their sadness over her passing.

These women are amongst the longest serving members of ANC and they worked closely with Duarte.

The National Memorial Service for the late Duarte will be held on Thursday. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
