Actress Elsie Rasalanavho became a fan favourite after playing the role of Vho-Mukondeleli on SABC 2 telenovela Muvhango.
She announced that she was leaving the show last month during Muvhango’s 25th birthday celebrations.
On Muvhango the actress suffered brain injury and she was in the Intensive Care Unit but the machines had to be switched off as her journey came to an end.
Fans usually praised her acting antics and abilities on Twitter.
Announcing her departure Elsie said her journey has not been easy as she doubled her acting career with her teaching job.
She had to teach during week days and on Fridays afternoon she would board a bus from Limpopo to Johannesburg to shoot for Muvhango.
On Sundays she would board another bus back to Limpopo so that she attends to school children on Monday.
The veteran actress has been part of the show’s cast for 25 years and she had established herself as a fan favourite.
