Newzroom Afrika has reported that the Deputy Minister of Arts, Sports and Culture Ms Nocawe Mafu has visited the Fraser family.
She was accompanied by Gauteng Sports MEC Mbali Hlophe. They went to pass their condolences to the family of gospel great Dr Deborah Fraser.
The 56 year old award-winning musician passed away on Sunday, 15 May 2022 at Chris Hani Barangwanath Academic Hospital after a short illness.
Minister Mafu told the media that the late icon played a big role in the arts industry thus cultural, gospel space, musical space and more.
She added that government and the department will assist the family during this difficult period.
Deborah Fraser’s love for gospel music has been described by many as inspirational. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
