On Tuesday telecoms giant Vodacom announced the appointment of Sitholizwe Mdlalose as the new managing director from 1 July 2022.
He will be replacing Balesh Sharma who is leaving the company at the end of June 2022.
Mdlalose is a Zimbabwean accountant and corporate executive who was appointed as chief executive officer of Vodacom Tanzania in August last year.
He previously served as the Director of Finance at Vodacom South Africa between 2017 and August 2021.
Sitholizwe Mdlalose is a qualified chartered accountant and a senior executive programme graduate from Harvard Business School. His career spans over two decades.
Vodacom Group CEO Shameel Joosub is banking on Mdlalose’s experience and skills acquired over years to turn around the financial fortunes of the company.
