Wendy Luhabe Steps Down as Chair of Pepkor

Wendy Luhabe, South African businesswoman, is stepping down as Chair of Pepkor (JSE-listed group behind PEP, Ackermans, and HiFi Corp).

She has chaired the board since December 2020 and will leave on 30 June, citing a desire to scale back her board commitments.

Luhabe previously stepped down as Chair of food group Libstar last year.

Ian Kirk, former Sanlam Group CEO and current lead independent director at Pepkor, will act as Chair while a successor is sought.

Luhabe will retain a non-executive board seat at Swiss luxury group Richemont.
