Makhadzi Muimbi used to sing and dance on the dusty streets of her village in Limpopo. Now she is performing on the global stage and is now a power house.

The Matorokisi hitmaker has managed to carve a name for herself with music that transcends culture, race, ethnicity and age.

She has a legion of followers from the African continent and beyond. The journey has not been easy for Makhadzi whose real name is Ndivhudzannyi Ralivhona.

As a Venda artist it has not been easy for her in Gauteng. She was mocked for singing in her TshiVenda language.

Things changed when she met other Limpopo born musicians Master KG and King Monada who produced nice beats for her. They told her to change her genre to Limpopo House.

The songstress grew under the care of her grandmother who would give Makhadzi her SASSA card to withdraw money to print CDs.

Makhadzi is always bullied on social media but that has not broken her spirit. Her ex-manager also dupped her as she is still getting royalties from Makhadzi’s music, years after separation.

The singer emphasises on the importance of creating financial nets as artists, because of the volatility of the industry and life’s uncertainties.

The Matorokisi hitmaker is currently dating music producer Master KG. She holds a Public Relations Degree and is currently studying drama.
