Shocking allegations have been made against officials who are supposed to be handing out donations to KwaZuluNatal flood victims.
Residents of KwaSanti near Pinetown are claiming that Officials are actually helping themselves to food, blankets and mattresses that are meant for the victims.
The residents are calling for the government to intervene. One victim told the media that officials were hoarding donations.
She said the officials choose nice branded clothing for themselves. In the meantime rescue operations are still on going as families try to find their missing loved ones.
Over 60 people are reported missing due to the flooding.
KZN MEC for Social Development, Nonhlanhla Khoza said they are opting to give the victims vouchers loaded with money so that they can buy items they need.
