Former President Jacob Zuma is demanding the National Prosecuting Authority boss Shamila Batohi to remove Advocate Billy Downer ahead of the arms deal trial.

Zuma’s criminal trial is set for the 11th of April 2022 at the Pietmaritzburg High Court.

Jacob Zuma is being accused of receiving more than 790 payments, accumulating R4.1 million in the late 90s and early 2000s.

The bribes were to help Thales, a French arms deal company to secure lucrative contracts from the government. Zuma now faces, fraud, money laundering and corruption charges.
