Yesterday the 7th of April 2022, Netflix premiered a documentary about the late Bafana Bafana and Orlando Pirates goal keeper Senzo Meyiwa.
The documentary is titled, Senzo: Murder of a Soccer Star. Meyiwa was shot dead at his girlfriend Kelly Khumalo’s house in Vosloorus in 2014.
Kelly Khumalo, her sister Zandile, their mother, Longwe Twala, Mthokozisi Twala and Tumelo Madlala, Kelly’s son Christian and daughter Thingo were in the house when Senzo was fired at.
The murder was first believed as an invasion that went wrong. However as investigations went on, it appeared that a hit was ordered on Senzo’s life.
The documentary includes an interview from sportscaster Robert Marawa. Marawa said the story did not add up.
He said if it was a home invasion why was it Senzo Meyiwa’s life that was taken away. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
