President Cyril Ramaphosa has announced the recognition of Misuzulu KaZwelithini as the new Zulu King.

This follows the dispute over Misizulu ‘s ascention to the throne after court cases were brought by his other brothers and sisters. Misuzulu won in court.

After the Zulu royal house and KZN government failed to resolve the kingship, it was escalated to President Ramaphosa.

Ramaphosa said as required by the law and Traditional and Khoisan Leadership Act, he recognized Prince Misuzulu Sinqomile Zulu as the King of the Amazulu Kingship.

The recognition follows consultation with COGTA Minister, Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma) and the KZN premier.

Princess Thembi, who was leading the dispute, said she welcomed Ramaphosa ‘a announcement.

Preparations for Misuzulu’ s coronation will now proceed.
