South Africa has lost yet another legendary musician, Max “China” Mngadi has passed away. He was a band member of the Soul Brothers.
The guitarist passed away on the 11th of March 2022 at a Johannesburg hospital after battling a long undisclosed illness.
His death came while the band was touring South Africa and celebrating 46 years. The band said they will continue with their tour in honour of Mngadi.
Soul Brothers co-founder Moses Ngwenya told the Daily Sun that the death shocked them.

Ngwenya revealed that Mngadi’s health started deteriorating after the passing of the band’s co-founder and leader David Masondo in 2015.
