Kaizer Chiefs has confirmed that they have suspended winger Dumisani Zuma pending an internal disciplinary hearing.
Zuma was allegedly caught driving under the influence of alcohol last week and was arrested by the police. The club announced the decision on social media and on their website. The statement read as follows.
“Kaizer Chiefs is disappointed to learn of the recent alleged conduct of Dumisani Zuma as reported in the media and has taken the decision to immediately suspend him from all Club activities pending an internal disciplinary hearing.”
“His suspension is in the interests of all parties concerned and does not itself carry any inference of guilty or prejudgement.”
“The Club will ensure the matter is resolved as quickly as reasonably possible.”
