According to SABC news, former police officer Rosemary Ndlovu was yesterday, the 22nd of October found guilty of six accounts of murder, defeating the ends of justice, incitement as well as one account of attempted murder.

Judge Ramarumo Monama said the country had not observed such a similar situation as Rosemary Ndlovu’s case in the past 87 years. Now the state is calling for life sentence for the convicted ex-police officer.

Rosemary Nomia Ndlovu was found guilty of having her family members murdered so that she can cash in on insurance payouts. She claimed R1.4 million from the insurance payouts.

The victims include her sister, nephew, niece, cousin and her boyfriend. Ndlovu was also charged with four accounts of defrauding insurance companies.

After years of maintaining her innocence Judge Monama found her guilty and handed down the judgement at the High Court sitting in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court in Gauteng.

Keshi Mabunda, the investigating officer said the state relied on circumstantial evidence therefore the case was difficult and not easy to prove.

Ndlovu was also charged for the attempted murder of her mother and conspiring to have her sister Joyce and Joyce’s five children burnt to death.
