The Daily Sun has reported that several artists in the entertainment industry have been instructed to undergo an anger management training.
The artists include filmmaker Lungisani Mthethwa, artist manager Thabiso Mhlamvu, singer Mercy Pakela and tv presenter Brenda Mbhele.
These artists were once arrested in 2018 during the Global Citizen Festival. They were released on bail.
A letter that has been seen by Daily Sun reveals that the state intends to refer the above mentioned artists for a diversion programme which includes an anger management programme and public safety.
Mercy revealed that they are going to attend the programme for five weeks starting on the 18th of October 2021. She also revealed that the charges will be dropped as soon as they finish the programme.
The artists were arrested after staging a protest at the Festival. Renowned musicians Beyonce and Jay Z performed at the event.
