YFM presenter Faith Makubung revealed her father had a meeting with her boyfriend’s parents and the reaction she got from her parents was not what she had expected.
Their parents agreed that Faith and her boyfriend should get married even though the relationship was still new. Faith and her boyfriend wanted to get married on their own terms.
Faith’s father who is a pastor told her that as a Pastor there was no way people were going to know that his daughter was living with her boyfriend.
Faith and her boyfriend tried to reason with their parents but they had already decided on a date. The media personality said hers and her boyfriend’s voices were overpowered.
She revealed that she broke down and cried on the day of the lobola negotiations. Faith said she felt like her family was selling her off as they described her living arrangement with her boyfriend as a sin.
The radio presenter added that it was just her parents, her boyfriend’s mother and cousins at the lobola negotiations and no uncles, something she said is not part of her culture.
