Poet Ntsiki Mazwai has said the situation between rapper Boity Thulo and Bujy Bikwa should not be categorised as a gender based violence issue.
She said it should be clearly stated that its an issue involving two people who both got drunk, insulted each other resulting in one of them retaliating.
Even though Ntsiki Mazwai does not condone what Bujy Bikwa did, she said Boity Thulo should not classify herself as a woman who suffered Gender Based violence.
In a video Ntsiki said she has a problem with GBV being categorised at the same level as impi yasetshwaleni.
She said she has a problem with people who get drunk and swear at each other only to classify themselves as those women who are really getting beaten by their men.
Mazwai is a Gender Based violence activist who once found herself on the wrong side of the law as she proudly continued doing her duties as one.
She added that Boity Thulo and Bujy Bikwa need to hold themselves accountable for their poor and alcoholic display.
