The former South Africa Navy Officer, Aubrey Pule Padi, who killed his estranged wife, Tamara Padi, in the UK on 7 July, was sentenced to life in the UK this week.

Aubrey and Tamara had two children after 14 years of marriage , Tia (16) and Mia (11). The two children are now living with friends of the late Tamara while family in South Africa is making efforts to get her sister.

On the night of the murder, Aubrey let himself into Tamara ‘s house and waited for her to return from work at 1:30am, where she was employed as a care giver.

He concealed himself in his daughter’s room and waited for Tamara to sleep. At around 3:30am, Aubrey woke up and started beating Tamara with a metal pull up bar before stabbing her eight times with a kitchen knife.

Aubrey then fled the scene, but called the ambulance service and confessed – telling the operator that he was going to kill himself and that although he was sorry for what he did, she deserved it.
