Nompumelelo ‘Mpumi’ Zikalala (41) , the current De Beers Managed Operations Managing Director, has been appointed Kumba Iron Ore CEO starting on 1 January 2022.
Mpumi replaces Themba Mkwananzi, who has been appointed CEO it Anglo American ‘s bulk commodities business.
Speaking on her new appointment, Mpumi said her focus will be to build on Kumba’ s strong safety and operational track record, strengthening strategic partnerships and unlocking further value from the business.
