RIP: Nobesuthu Mbadu of Mahotella Queens Has Passed Away

Veteran singer and one of the original members of Mbaqanga group Mahotella Queens, Nobesuthu Mbadu has passed away. The family spokesperson Vanessa Tloubatla confirmed the news.

Nobesuthu Mbadu passed away due to Kidney failure. Her family and colleagues are devastated following her sudden death.

The singer died at the Thelle Mogoerane hospital in Vosloorus, Ekhuruleni in Gauteng Province. She was aged 76 at the time of her passing.

She joined Mahotella Queens in 1964 at the age of 19. Our condolences to her family and those who were close to her. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
