Justice Raymond Zondo has said that Dali Mpofu and his client Jacob Zuma’s new application will not help in any way to get the former head of state out of prison.
Apparently there are claims that the Constitutional Court did not follow International law when it handed out the sentencing of former President Jacob Zuma.
The Constitutional Court has since requested the National Prosecuting Authority as well as Dali Mpofu to both look at the section in question of the International law.
As a result the Justice has since explained that Advocate Dali Mpofu’s application will not work in terms of getting Jacob Zuma to be released from jail on fault of these laws on the application.
This is a setback for Advocate Dali Mpofu and Jacob Zuma. Zuma is serving his 15 months jail term at Estcourt prison following the Constitutional Court judgement that found him guilty of contempt of court.
