DiepCity actress Nozuko Ncayiyane has opened up about her struggles in the entertainment industry. Unlike other actors and actresses who studied drama, Nozuko did not receive any formal training.
She said she was taught how to act through an informal community theatre. She went to the University of KwaZuluNatal to study Education.
The actress said when she auditioned for SkeemSaam in 2013 she wanted the role of Enhle which was then given to her friend.
Seven months later, Skeem Saam called her for another role. When she moved to Johannesburg, she became the breadwinner and that brought her depression.
Nozuko revealed that she found herself in a deep dark hole in Johannesburg. She said she attempted suicide on many occasions however she is now recovering from depression.
