Recently video sharing app Tik Tok reached an agreement with the South African Music Rights Organisation to pay South African artists royalties everytime their music is used on Tik Tok.

Master KG’s hit song Jerusalema has over 1 billion streams on the app. This means Master KG and other artists whose songs have been played multiple times on the app will be getting their remunerations.

The licensing agreement will not only see artists getting paid but song writers, composers as well as music publishers getting paid royalties.

Jerusalema became a world wide sensation with many people across the world partaking in the Jerusalema Dance Challenge. The song also broke YouTube records with millions of views in a short space of time.
